Email Problems: Server Connection Failed
The connection to the server has failed.

Error Message: "The connection to the server has failed. Account 'johndoe:mail.yourdomainname', Server: 'mail.yourdomainname', Protocol: POP3, Port:995 or 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number 0x800CCC0E".

Cause/Description:  Email client cannot find the mail server, because either you have failed to enter the correct mail server name information in your account properties,  you have selected to use a secure connection (SSL) when connecting to the mail server, you have not connected to Link2CITY.com's mail server first (checked for new mail), or a combination of the above.

Solution:

  1. Make sure you have SMTP and POP server set to: 'mail.yourdomainname
  2. Deselect "Log on using secure password authentication".
  3. Be sure to check for new mail before trying to send. This validates you as one of our customers and allows you access to our mail servers.
